You stop noticing what doesn’t fit the story.
Consistency gets overlooked.
Effort gets minimized.
Presence gets discounted.
Anything that contradicts the narrative
doesn’t land the same way.
It doesn’t get stored.
It doesn’t get weighted.
Because it doesn’t support what you’ve already decided.
The Story Becomes Reality
At some point, the story feels undeniable.
Not because it’s true.
Because you’ve collected enough evidence to support it.
But the evidence wasn’t neutral.
It was selected.
Filtered.
Interpreted.
And now what you believe feels like fact.
What Actually Happened
Nothing clear.
Nothing defined.
Nothing that required a conclusion that fast.
There was a shift.
And instead of understanding it,
you explained it.
Why This Keeps Happening
Because sitting in uncertainty feels worse than being wrong.
Not knowing creates tension.
And most people don’t tolerate that well.
So they replace it.
With assumption.
With interpretation.
With a story that feels stable.
The Cost of Filling the Gap
The moment you decide what something means too quickly,
you stop seeing what it actually is.
You stop observing.
You stop listening.
You stop allowing space for clarity.
You stop letting the interaction reveal itself.
And once that happens, the connection is no longer unfolding.
It’s being directed.

At the moment you decided you already understood it.

What you do with it is.
